Hof der dingen - Beach sandals

Summer vacation at the Belgian coast meant exploring the sea, the beach, and the breakwater in all their sunny glory – without a care in the world. And most importantly: without parental supervision, of course.
You were scavenging for beautiful shells or maybe even a pirate treasure when suddenly your overprotective parents called out: “Be careful – you might get yourself hurt!”. To their defense, beachcombing barefoot wasn’t without dangers. Before you realised, you had stepped on a particularly sharp seashell or worse: a jellyfish. So of course, you had to wear beach sandals – preferably the sturdy plastic kind. Because you never knew what dangers lay hidden in the sand. Resistance was futile.
Now that we’re a bit older and wiser, we know they were right all along… and hey, turns out those plastic sandals are actually on trend now. Who knew?
