Hof der dingen - From mud to memories
How many West Flemish residents—young or young at heart—have spent their Saturdays and Sundays in a youth movement? VKSJ, Chiro, KSA, Scouts, KLJ… the names differ, but the stories are the same: trips down country lanes, harmless mischief, playing in the mud, trying your first cigarette or pint—maybe even meeting your childhood sweetheart.
This KSA shirt was donated by a former member KSA Peter Benoit Harelbeke, who shared this story with us: “My KSA uniform is a well-worn piece of West Flemish nostalgia. Not only because the youth movement in Roeselare was founded by a man from Ostend, but also because it was my home away from home for 19 years. Wherever I end up later in life, the torn blue fabric will always catapult me back to those unforgettable days at KSA Peter Benoit Harelbeke.”
Our thanks go to all those young people who, even today, devote their time and energy selflessly to their peers.
